Robertson’s Christian theme park nixed

January 12th, 2006

Robertson’s Christian theme park nixed.: “Israel refuses to do business with Pat Robertson, who is leading the right-wing coalition to build a Christian ‘heritage center’ in Israel’s Galilee region, after he said that Ariel Sharon’s stroke was divine punishment.”

A good move. It seems odd to me that Israel would even seriously pursue relationships with Christian pre-Millenialists, who typically only support Israel so that the Rapture will come that much more quickly.

Of course, it’s got to hurt Pat that his ‘heritage center’/theme park is no longer in the works. I wonder how much capital he had tied up in that. Oh well, I’m sure since he was speaking the divine Word of God that he’ll stand by his statement. . .

Pat Robertson Apologizes To Israel | January 12, 200619:50:24: “(CBS/AP) Christian broadcaster Pat Robertson has sent a letter apologizing for suggesting that Ariel Sharon’s massive stroke was divine punishment for pulling Israel out of the Gaza Strip.”

(Via CBSNews.com.)

Whoops. I wonder how much groveling he’ll have to do to save his investment.
